Kyra Minturn
Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born August 19, 1965) is an American actor, producer and director. She is most famous for her role as the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson (TVN crime drama The Closer). Sedgwick won two Emmy Awards in 2010 as well as 2007 for her portrayal Johnson. The seventh season of the show ended on the 13th of August 2012. Sedgwick is also known for her role as a regular on Brooklyn Nine-Nine's sitcom Madeline Wuntch. Sedgwick was nominated for the Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's other roles include Oliver Stone's Born to the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's singles (1992) The Heart and Souls(93), Phenomenon (1996), What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born New York City to Patricia Rosenwald (nee Rosenwald), who is a speech and family therapist, as well as Henry Dwight Sedgwick who is a venture capitalist. Her mother was Jewish and her father was Episcopalian. She was also of English descent. Sedgwick declares herself Jewish, and she has stated that she is a participant at Passover seders.
