Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara, OC was born March 4 1954. She is a Canadian-American comedian as well as an actress and writer. O'Hara is the proud recipient of numerous awards, including the Genie Award. She was named as an Officer of the Order of Canada in 2018 and was awarded the Governor General's Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Award in 2020. O'Hara was first noticed as an actress in 1974 when she was she was a part of The Second City improvisational comedy troupe in Toronto. Dan Aykroyd and John Candy were also part of her main cast on the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). In the next year, O'Hara and Candy began working in the sketch comedy program Second City Television (1976-1984), where she drew critical acclaim for both her performance as a comedic actor and writer. She was awarded a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for an Variety Series in 1981. In 2022, O'Hara was added to the brand-new Second City artistic advisory board led by Stephen Colbert, along with Steve Carell, Dwayne Colbert, Tina Fey, Keegan-Michael Key, Julia Louis-Dreyfus Jane Lynch, Tim Meadows, Peter Murrieta, Suzy Nakamura Sam Richardson, Jeff Richmond, Jason Sudeikis, and Robin Thede.
