Kamala Harris

Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. Kamala Devi Harris is the first female to be elected vice president and is also the most powerful female officer in American history. As a part of the Democratic Party, she previously was the attorney general of California between 2011 and 2017 and also as the state's attorney general from 2011 to 2017 and as a United States senator representing California from 2017 until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and graduated from Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Harris was later hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. She was elected San Francisco district attorney in 2003. In 2010 Harris was elected Attorney General of California and was re-elected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States Senator from California between 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez to become the first African American woman senator and the first South Asian American ever to be elected to the United States Senate.
